Checking the Google Video homepage can sometimes lead you to some real gems. My find today is a Bharat Bala video that puts some of India’s best known vocalists and instrumentalists together for an amazing rendition of the National Anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana‘. Like all Bharat Bala videos, the music has been arranged by another gem from India – A R Rahman. The vocals at the end of the video where each artiste sings a part of the song in their signature style and accent is what will make this video a classic as it makes a wonderful potpourri of the differences in musical style that exist in India. They sing in the same language, yet you can hear their own languages seeping out of their voices.
