The flash album where I used to put all my new pictures, will still be available. Instead of holding all the new pictures, it will hold some of the better ones.
» KD, The choice of camera depends on your particular needs, namely, size vs features.
I chose size since I wanted a camera I could carry around easily without being a burden. If that's what you want, then I suggest the SD400/SD500 from Canon.
If size is not a constraint, then you can go for features - more manual features.. like the Powershot G6. (All the above cameras are excellent and within the price range you mentioned)
Those are great pics...amazing stuff.....I'm also Anil. I too serious at photography, I hold Canon Powershot A80, which I believe can take same pics as yours with auto mode. What are the settings you use in manual mode.
Anonymous Anil, Your A80 is a much more powerful camera than my Powershot S410 since it has the Aperture and Shutter priority modes. The manual mode on my camera simply means that I can set the ISO levels, or turn the flash on or off, and adjust exposure settings. The only thing I do with this mode is to turn the flash off permanently. Once in a while I might use the exposure settings to get a particularly long exposure, but that is not a common way to take pictures.
You can do plenty of amazing things with your aperture and shutter priority modes, and I hope to play around with those things when I buy a DSLR (hopefully soon..), but right now my way of taking pictures is simple: Put the camera in manual mode, check that the flash is turned off, compose the picture and click. Composition is all I can do and the Canon delivers great pictures.
