Glass and Steel
image: glass and steel

The ASU Foundation building in downtown Tempe, Az. It is a beautiful glass and steel building and stands in stark contrast to the older architecture of the rest of ASU.

And you call that beautiful... Buildings must blend in overall harmony, not stick out! This building and that Lattie Coor classroom building don't belong anywhere near ASU Main.

BTW: The picture itself is not bad!

If you view them individually, they are definitely beautiful, but I agree with you that they do not match the architecture of the place. It is however, a matter of opinion if all buildings in an area should share a common architectural style, or if every building should have an individuality of its own. I can understand why someone would be outraged at the glass and steel structures between the warmer, older architecture at ASU.

However, it is still better than the contrast offered by Gehry's design for the MIT Stata Center.

Give me Gehry over Architekton any day. But I agree, not in downtown Tempe!

Still annonymous!
